Tore foreleser i forskningsmetoder innenfor psykologi og samfunnsvitenskap. Hans forskning er i første rekke innrettet mot eksperimentelle metoder i psykologi for å besvare forskningsspørsmål innenfor flere ulike samfunnsområder, blant annet hvordan mennesker feilbedømmer sine emosjoner og derved foretar feilbeslutninger.

Tore har samfunnsvitenskapelig utdanning, er i tillegg licentiat i psykologi samt magister i organisasjon og ledelse, og har også en doktorgrad i beslutningspsykologi, innenfor forskningsfeltet Affective Forecasting.

Tore is Associate Professor at Bjørknes University College. His primary affiliation is at the Norwegian Defence Intelligence School, where he holds the position as Dean of Academics and Director of Center for Intelligence Studies. His former position was Research Director at the National Institute of Occupational Health. He is an accredited Military Intelligence Specialist and is also Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
